Artist's Bio

Gerri Dickieson graduated from the Jewellery Arts Program of George Brown College in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, in 1980.
Upon graduation, she was employed at The Jewel Case, a prestigious downtown Toronto Jewellery Store. There she learned much about the world of Jewellery and life under the mentorship of the store's owner Mr.Wengle.
In 1980,Gerri was the recipient of a DeBeer's Diamond's Tomorrow Award for a diamond bracelet design.
In 1983, Gerri became self-employed and created an artistic line of Jewellery. This allowed for the exploration of Jewellery as an art and a craft. I used my experience to further my career while designing and exploring new techniques.
Enameling was an extra curricular course that intrigued Gerri. The process of layering glass fused to metal, the unpredictability of the medium and the ability of the art to stimulate the creative means inspired Gerri to integrate enameling in her Jewellery designs.
Every enameled piece is an experiment that will test your ingenuity and patience, but there is no other process that can create the same depth, originality and permanent beauty in the metal. All this and rich, unique colours collaborating with the metal of the Jewellery.
Gerri has been creating her own signature line of enameled Jewellery for many years. A new line of enameled Jewellery will be launched 2009 / 2010. Stay Tuned.
